We don't want war: Wife of killed Indian pilot tells social media 'warriors'
Squadron Leader Ninad Mandavgane’s wife Vijeta came forth with a strong message for people online requesting them to exhibit control and not escalate the tensions by swelling sentiments of people while also urging them to act as civilized citizens.
Wife of Indian pilot killed in a chopper shot down by Pakistan in Indian-occupied Kashmir this week, stepped forward on Friday voicing her displeasure at frenzied social media user escalating the strains between India and Pakistan.
Squadron Leader Ninad Mandavgane’s wife Vijeta came forth with a strong message for people online requesting them to exhibit control and not escalate the tensions by swelling sentiments of people while also urging them to act as civilized citizens.
"There is a lot happening on social media and on TV. Media acts responsible and sometimes don't. You shout slogans. Instead of that, if you truly want to bring about change, for my Ninad, for WC Abhinandan and the martyrs, do a small thing. Either join the forces or make your family members join the forces,” she stated.
“If you can't, then at least bring about small changes around you to help the nation. You can keep your surroundings clean, not litter the roads, not urinate in the public, not harassing girls," she added further.
"We don't want a war. You don't know the damages of war. We don't want more Ninads to go. Social media warriors, please stop. If you want war, go to the front,"she stated.
Ninad had been killed earlier this week after Pakistan shot down an Mi-17 chopper in Indian-occupied Kashmir that killed six other Indian Air Force officials as well.
