KARACHI: A 25-year-old man and a woman were killed for honour on the orders of a jirga in Karachi.
The bodies of the deceased were found from Hub, falling under the Surjani Police Station jurisdiction. The officials said there were torture marks on the bodies and their throats were slashed.
After investigation, the police identified the two as Naseeb Zar Khan and Bibi Dakhtar. They added that the two belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lived in the same locality.
"The two were killed after proper planning,” officials said and added that the woman’s parents are missing," said the officials.
A case, including clauses of murder and karo kari has been filed on the state's complaint.
The first information report (FIR) states that the man was reported as missing in July while the woman was reported missing in August. “When they were reported missing, a jirga was called which ordered that the couple be killed,” police added.
Meanwhile, further investigations to probe the matter are underway.
