Five children die from 'food poisoning' in Karachi' : Citing a family source, Geo News correspondent, the family that belongs to Quetta had eaten at a restaurant before being shifted to hospital.
ISLAMABAD: Five children have died from food poisoning at a private hospital , Karachi police said on Friday.
Mother of the children is being treated at the hospital in a critical condition, the police said,without providing further details.
The children are aged between 1 and and nine years.
Citing a family source, Geo News correspondent, the family that belongs to Quetta was staying at Qasre-Naz federal loges. They had ordered food from a restaurant which apparently caused "food poising".
The children have been identified as Abdul Ali (1.5 year old ) Aziz Faisal (4), Alia (4), Towhid (7) and salwa (9).
According to Geo News, the police have launched an investigation and arrested at least 18 people from the restaurant which had served the food.
The food samples have also been sent for examination to ascertain the cause of deaths.
