LAHORE: In a move to eliminate all traces of terrorism and illicit arms in the province, the Punjab government issued the Arms Ordinance 2015 on Wednesday.
According to the ordinance, public display or carrying of any arms is prohibited throughout the province.
Punjab Home Secretary Azam Salman told Geo News that in order to maintain strict law and order and security for the citizens, important amendments have been made to Section 13 of the Punjab Arms Ordinance 1965.
The amendments specify that there would be complete prohibition on carrying and public display of any kind of unlicensed arms and ammunition. While for licensed weapons, public display will not be allowed.
The penalty according to the ordinance could lead to imprisonment between two to 14 years along with a fine.
