KARACHI: The Matriculation Board on Friday annulled the policy for mandatory B-form requirement from abandoned orphans.
Geo News had aired a report about how the National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) was refusing to prepare B-Forms and National Identity Cards for abandoned orphans.
The Board then announced today that the NIC number of the head of the charitable institution to which the child belongs to may be written in the exam form.
As a result of the earlier policy, the children of SOS village - a facility that keeps children who are abandoned by their parents – were forced to skip their Matric exams.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also took notice of the news yesterday, hours after it was aired on Geo News.
He ordered NADRA to come out with a clear policy on the matter within one week’s time.
