SUKKUR: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah Sunday said the power of media can be gauged from the fact that it made a man who spoke from atop the container a leader.
Addressing a program organized in connection with World Press Freedom Day here at the Sukkur Press Club, Shah said the journalist fraternity had to wage a war against four dictators over the past decades and rendered numerous sacrifices in the struggle.
He said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) always raised voice for journalists’ rights and it too had to bear the brunt for the same.
The Opposition Leader in NA said freedom of press and trade are two different things, adding anyone who makes big money begins to wish to have his own channel.
