MQM’s Khawaja Izhar appointed Sindh Assembly opposition leader
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan has been appointed as the Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly.
Announcing the appointment Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani said Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan had the support of majority opposition MPAs.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan has been appointed as the Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly.
Announcing the appointment Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani said Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan had the support of majority opposition MPAs.
Speaking to the media earlier on Wednesday, MQM leader Syed Sardar Ahmed said an application for the appointment had been submitted to the Secretary of the Sindh Assembly.
The post of Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader was being held by Shahryar Maher who said he would be submitting his resignation to provincial assembly secretary today (Wednesday). Maher said he did not want a notification to be issued for his removal.
