KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail on Friday said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed to conduct election properly even in a single constituency despite being a powerful institution.
Speaking to the media a day after the by-election, he, however, conceded that even if 'Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) 25,000 bogus votes' are deducted from the tally, the PTI would have still lost the poll.
“I did what I could have done in my capacity... we have broken the shackles of fear in Karachi,” Ismail said, adding that people of the constituency and the PTI are actual winners of the NA-246 by-election.
Imran Ismail was the PTI’s candidate for the National Assembly's NA-246 constituency, in which MQM's Kanwar Naveed Jameel emerged victorious defeating him with heavy margin on Thursday.
