KARACHI: Two witnesses in Arshad Pappu murder case on Wednesday retracted their statements as they appear in an anti-terrorism court.
Police Constable Amir Hanif and Haq Nawaz said their earlier statements were forcibly recorded by Inspector Mubin who kept them in detention.
They said that they didn’t even visit Defence Phase II area on March 16 and 17 where the deceased was arrested.
The witnesses further said that they had not recorded any statement before a judicial magistrate.
According to Geo News, hearing of the case was conducted in ATC 7 where five suspects including a PPP lawmaker were presented before the judge.
The hearing was adjourned till May 7. Uzair Jan Baloch, leader of banned People’s Aman Committee and alleged gangster Noor Muhammad Ladla are among the suspects whom police have not been able to arrest so far.
