NA body approves Electronic Crime Bill
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology on Thursday approved Electronic Crime Bill 2015 to curb cyber crimes in the country.
The committee which met with Captain (retd) Safdar in the chair discussed the bill which introduces punishments for crimes that are committed within the cyber space.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will be authorized to block the material against Islamic values,

The committee which met with Captain (retd) Safdar in the chair discussed the bill which introduces punishments for crimes that are committed within the cyber space.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will be authorized to block the material against Islamic values, national image, national security and defence.
According to the bill anybody found guilty of Cyber Terrorism would be punished with 14-year jail term and 50 million fine.
Breach of sensitive on-line system would be punishable by seven-year imprisonment and Rs5 million fine.
The Electronic Crime Bill said dissemination of hate speech and literature on internet would be punishable b y 5 year jail term and 5 million fine.
