The paramilitary force holds special powers of keeping suspects in 90-day custody under Protection of Pakistan Ordinance.
The Rangers have been carrying out an operation against criminal elements in the metropolis since Nawaz government took charge in Islamabad.
All the political parties had agreed to purge the city of targeted killers and other organized crimes.
