ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supremo Imran Khan on Tuesday termed a development package announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan as 'pre-poll rigging' and 'electoral gimmick.
In a series of tweets on a microblogging website, Twitter, the PTI chief said Prime Minister Nawaz had earlier moved to appoint his federal minister as governor Gilgit-Baltistan, adding the PM had also tried to appoint Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) loyalist caretaker government and election commissioner.
"This brazen pre-poll rigging is absolutely unacceptable and PML-N must learn the essentials of democracy beginning with fair and free elections," Khan tweeted.
He severely criticized the PM, saying ‘Nawaz Sharif has not been able to rise above cronyism and use of money to buy influence’.
