KARACHI: Police Chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo said on Monday the situation in Karachi had approved as a result of the operation being carried out in the city.
“The last major terrorist activity was the attack on the Karachi airport. Even in that the police killed all ten terrorists and arrested their facilitators. Operation Zarb-e-Azb was started in reaction to that attack”.
Thebo added the police and Rangers had accomplished in Karachi what the Pakistan Army had done in Waziristan.
According to Thebo the recent terrorist attacks in the city had primarily targeted the police and Rangers.
