HARIPUR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that those making tall claims of making 'Naya' (new) Pakistan should first make a Naya Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing party leaders and workers in Haripur today, PM Nawaz said the dreams of those who staged sit-ins to topple the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government could not come true.
The premier claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a bastion of PML-N and the party will make the government in the province in future. Indirectly hitting at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its chief Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif questioned what the people who made tall claims had done in KP.
Taking credit of bringing peace to Karachi, Nawaz Sharif said those who are announcing to end the "atmosphere of fear" in the port city should understand the metropolis is back on its track of prosperity and its credit goes to the government.
He said, “it is because of prudent decisions of the government that peace has started reviving in Karachi. Incidents of extortion, kidnapping for ransom and targeted killings have been brought to an end in the provincial metropolis.” He added that Karachi has again been put on the path of development.
