Pakistan on Thursday opened its largest airport in Islamabad, more than a decade after its foundation stone was laid.
Commercial flights were operated from the Islamabad International Airport a couple of days after its formal inaugural by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at a ceremony.
As people started arriving at the airport, chaotic scenes were witnessed in the luggage area of the terminal. But it was not caused by anything that could be blamed on authorities.
The incident was filmed by an unnamed passenger who later posted it on the Facebook.
The video was posted on a Facebook page with a caption: "New Islamabad Airport but same people. How change comes "
Since then it has been widely circulated on different social media platforms, with users asking their countrymen to behave.
"I was on first duty at airport. But feel shocked to see people throwing garbage everywhere where. Even washrooms were used badly. And even destroyed plants and flowers," commented a user who happened to by there as the airport welcomed its first passengers.
Another came up with an advice to prevent this from happening again.
"But strict administration n fine would make them humans. Can u expect this in Dubai with same people and same nationality no because of strict rule.
