KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said Thursday that MQM would not be allowed to spread fear and tear again under the guise of politics.

The chief minister was speaking to media persons after inspecting ongoing development projects in the provincial capital.

CM Shah said that people of Karachi had elected MQM but what they got in return was bodies in gunny bags.

“MQM has every right to do politics like others but they will not be allowed to resort to violence,” he said. “We restored peace in this city after many sacrifices and hard work.”

The chief minister said that nobody would be allowed to hijack the city.

He, however, welcomed the unification of MQM's factions.

“I have always advised the factions of MQM to unite and to work for the welfare of their people and the city,” he said.

The chief minister was accompanied by Minister for Local Government Jam Khan Shoro, Minister for Information Syed Nasir Shah and Minister for P&D Saeed Ghani, MPA Javed Nagori and others.
