Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated that PTI and PML-N have forced the judicialization of politics.
Bilawal said this in a reaction following Supreme Court verdict in which the apex court on Friday ruled that disqualification of lawmakers under Article 62(1) (f) of the Constitution disqualification is permanent.
Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Khan Tareen were also disqualified under the same provision of the constitution.
Bilawal tweeted, “I am of the belief that it’s the people of Pakistan who should make such decisions about the fate of politicians. Unfortunately it is PTI & PMLN themselves who have forced the judicialization of our politics.”
He went on to say naehal (disqualified) Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Tareen must now face the consequences of their actions.
A five-member larger bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, announced the reserved verdict in the cases involving interpretation, determination of the question of temporary or permanent bar on the parliamentarians to contest elections.
According to the Supreme Court decision, the constitution declares a person disquieted for life who is not Sadiq and Ameen.
