JHELUM: An unmarried girl on Thursday was killed by her family on her audacity to marry the man of her choice in Pind Dadan Khan, a city in Jhelum district.
According to Police, a resident of Jalalpur Sharif, Shagufta, had fled from home and landed at her lover’s house, who is identified as Hasnain.
Inquiries launched into the matter revealed that the family had allegedly strangled her with bare hands later that day after manipulating her to return home in claims of marrying them off with honour in a few days span.
The police rushed to the site and shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital for autopsy.
The police said that the case will be taken to legal proceedings after receiving post mortem reports.
