Chinese engineers who provoked social media storm last week and drew strong criticism over their manhandling of Pakistani police have reportedly apologized.
Our correspondent confirmed that the police personnel were invited by the Chinese engineers at their camp.
He, however, couldn't confirm whether the invitation was extended by the Chinese to bury the hatchet.
But social media on Sunday was awash with pictures showing personal in Punjab police uniform enjoying a meal with foreigners identified by some users as Chinese engineers who had clashed with police.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Chinese engineers invited the police personnel to dinner where they apologized for their behavior.
Names of the Chinese nationals and police personnel were not immediately known.

The pictures seemed more offensive to some people as they thought the Chinese national appeared to show no regard for Pakistan's flag that was printed on the vehicle right under his feet.
