Chief Justice says he did not call PM "Faryadi"

ISLAMABAD: In an informal conversation with journalists, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday clarified that he had not called Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as a ‘Faryadi’.

According to details, Justice Nisar denied making such comments that is  being attributed to him that  he called Prime Minister 'Faryadi' in a conversation with senior lawyer Latif Khosa.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that CJP had said; “My responsibility is to listen to the agonies of ‘Faryadi".

While responding to a question during an informal conversation with journalists, Chief Justice said that he never  called Prime Minister 'Faryadi '.

CJP  added that he did not lose anything and only gained from his meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Earlier on Thursday, a clarification was issued by Public Relations Officer of Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) Shahid Hussain Kamboyo,  saying  that this attribution to the honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan is  absolutely wrong and malicious.

“Chief Justice holds the Prime Minister in high esteem and has never used the word “Faryadi” for him,” the statement said.

Any misgivings in this regard should, therefore, be put to rest, it added.

In response to the remarks being attributed to  the CJP Mian Saqib Nisar, ousted  minister Nawaz Sharif said that the top judge should not have used words like “Faryadi” for PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi the head of the government, adding that he will talk to the premier over CJP's remarks regarding the meeting.
