ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Imran Ismail has claimed that former Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader and TV anchor Amir Liaquat Hussain will be joining Imran Khan’s party.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Imran Ismail claimed, “Amir Liaquat Hussain will formally announce joining PTI in a press conference with Imran Khan on Monday.”
It may be noted here that law enforcement agencies launched action against MQM leader and workers following anti-state remarks by MQM founder on August 22, 2016. Dr Farooq Sattar, Amir Liaquat Hussain and other leaders were also taken into custody by Rangers.
The very next day on August 23, Amir Liaquat Hussain announced to quit politics, saying “I am not part of MQM from today and I am leaving the party.” “I am also quitting Pakistani politics,” he had added.
“Pakistan is everything for me, whatever I am today it is all because of Pakistan,” Amir Liaquat had remarked.
