Visually impaired woman breaks record for running 12 hours on treadmill
Sinead Kane, with a mere five percent vision ran an overwhelming 130.50 km (81.09 miles), which is the equivalent of three marathons, for 12 hours on a treadmill at the Clayton Hotel Gym in Ireland.
In spite of her visual impairment, an Irish woman has left all amazed by running an astounding 81.09 miles for 12 straight hours and securing her place in the Guinness World Records.
Sinead Kane, with a mere five percent vision ran an overwhelming 130.50 km (81.09 miles), which is the equivalent of three marathons, for 12 hours on a treadmill at the Clayton Hotel Gym in Ireland.
The record for the greatest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours (female) was previously broken by Sinead as well by 1.88 km.
The athlete also holds the record of being the first blind female to run a marathon on all seven continents within a timeframe of seven days. According to her, she wanted to take on this challenge to alter the preconceptions about people with disabilities.
The 35 year old athlete was born without irises that allow her eyes to take in an excessive amount of light making her see whiteness instead of darkness.
