Pakistan prepares to display military might on March 23

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan is preparing for 23rd March parade that would be held in Islamabad on March 23 to celebrate the Pakistan Day.
Pakistan Day marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution, when a separate nation for the Muslims of The British Indian Empire was demanded on March 23, 1940 in Lahore.
Timings for flights headed to and departing Islamabad between March 12-22 have been revised to allow Pakistan Air Force jets to rehearse for the 23rd March Pakistan Day parade.
Earlier this week, the army advised passengers to confirm the revised flight timings beforehand in order to "avoid any inconvenience" since Islamabad's airspace will remain closed from 8am-12:40pm and 2:30-4pm for the next 10 days, which would disturb the flight schedule.
Last year special features of the parade were participation of Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) China’s Tri Services and Saudi Special Force’s contingents and Turkish Jannisary Military band (Mehteran)”.
South African National Defence Force, General Solly Zacharia will also witnessed the parade among other dignitaries.
Pakistani armed forces display nuclear-capable weapons, tanks, jets, drones and other weapons systems in the Pakitan Day parade.
