LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) now backs down on the MoU regarding the Judicial Commission, PTI will come out on to the streets again.
Khan said PTI had been in talks with the PML-N concerning the JC for at least three months and all issues on the subject had been finalised, adding that yesterday PTI came to know that the PML-N now wants to make changes to the MoU.
The PTI chief further said that their party has shown as much flexibility as possible and if the PML-N backtracks it means that they are scared of the JC and what results it will produce.
He went on to say that PTI will not accept any changes and called out on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar not to make any amendments.
Speaking to the media regarding the audio tape leak between him and PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi, he said that it is a major offence according to law to tape someone’s conversation.
A private conversation between Khan and Alvi discussing the attack on PTV leaked on social media today in which Arif Alvi informs Imran Khan about the PTV attack and the shutting down of transmission and Khan responds: “That is good, they deserve it.”
On the matter of Pakistan involving itself in the Yemen situation, Khan said it is wrong for Pakistan to participate in someone else’s war, adding that he strictly opposes providing any military assistance to Saudi Arabia for the purpose.
He further said that by partaking in America’s wars, Pakistan is still incurring losses and questioned that did PM Nawaz take Parliament’s permission for the involvement in the war, or did he call an All Parties Conference or ask the opposition’s views.
