Journalists boycott AJK assembly, protest over suspension of Geo transmission

MUZAFFARABAD: Journalists fraternity on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against suspension of Geo News transmission in Muzaffarrabad.

According to details, the journalists boycotted assembly proceedings and staged sit-in outside the hall.

Senior journalist Saleem Akhtar, Deputy Speaker of AJK Assembly Shaheen Kusar Dar, Law Minister Syed Azhar Gilani, other ministers and deputy opposition leader Chaudhry Tariq Farooq also participated in the protest.

The deputy opposition leader criticized the government over the suspension of Geo News transmission.

The protest demonstration was staged on the call of Central Union of Journalists, AJK Union of Journalists and Central Press Club.
