JERUSALEM: Seven Israeli military police officials recently arrested a donkey for not having ‘legal status’ in the neighborhood of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem.
The donkey along with its owner was detained for some time before being released.
While it is a common practice of Israeli security officials to arrest Palestinians without warrant or charge and seize their belongings on a regular basis, they might have gone too far this time after taking an animal into custody.
The donkey’s arrest might have been done with the same intention, as it is the main mode of transport for farmers in occupied territories.
