ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said criminals must be punished irrespective of their political affiliations.
He said that speculations should not be made regarding Sindh governor’s resignation as only a few hours have passed since Saulat Mirza’s confession.

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said criminals must be punished irrespective of their political affiliations.
He said that speculations should not be made regarding Sindh governor’s resignation as only a few hours have passed since Saulat Mirza’s confession.
Talking to media men in the President House, Mamnoon Hussain said the decision to postpone the executions of death row convicts Shafqat Hussain and Saulat Mirza was taken over advice.
He said as to why the media remained silent for the last seven years on the issue of Shafqat Hussain, adding that the decision to cancel his execution would be taken after thorough examination of his 'age-record'.
