KARACHI: After making startling revelations in a video statement on Wednesday, death-row prisoner Saulat Mirza remains in the death-cell according to Mach Jail Superintendent.
According to sources, it has been decided that a new team will be constituted to interrogate Mirza following his revelations. However at the same time a letter seeking a fresh death warrant for Mirza is also being dispatched to the court.
Sources add that legal aspects of Mirza’s strong allegations will also be reviewed. In his video statement from prison, Saulat Mirza alleged that he killed then MD KESC Shahid Hamid on instructions received from MQM chief Altaf Hussain via telephone at the residence of Babar Ghauri.

Following his revelations, just hours before the death sentence was to be carried out, instructions to differ Mirza’s execution for 72 hours were received by Jail authorities.
