ISLAMABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-Pakistan has filed reference to deseat the lawmakers who have left the party, according to Geo TV on Thursday.
The reference against 11 lawmakers was submitted by MQM leader Farooq Sattar in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The lawmakers include two members of the National Assembly and nine members of the Sindh Assembly.
The party requested the electoral body to deseat MNAs Asif Husnain and Salman Baloch and MPAs Irum Azeem Farooqui, Sheikh Abdulah, Khalid bin Wilayat, Irtaza Khalil, Nadeem Razi, Abdul Razaq, Arif Maseeh and Bilqees Mukhtiar.
The party reference stated hat the lawmakers be deseated since they joined other political parties after leaving the MQM.
