Pakistan Army fully supports mainstreaming of FATA: Gen. Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan Army fully supports mainstreaming of FATA and shall pursue it in line with aspirations of tribal brothers.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the Army Chief interacted with FATA delegations of Tribal elders and Youth Jirga at ISPR, the military’s media wing. 

He held detailed discussions with both delegations separately.

The delegations acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s sacrifices, efforts and contributions for peace & stability and socio-economic development of FATA. They expressed their respective views regarding mainstreaming of FATA and the way forward.

The Army Chief lauded tribal elders and youth for their determination and support to Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism. He valued their views regarding future of FATA. 

General Bajwa said that achievements through sacrifices of brave tribals of FATA are being consolidated while we transit from relative stability to enduring peace.

COAS also shared his engagement with Afghan leadership for enhanced cooperation and security measures along Pak-Afghan border.

General Qamar JAved Bajwa assured both delegations that “Pakistan Army fully supports mainstreaming of FATA and shall pursue it in line with aspirations of our tribal brothers.”

He advised the youth to continue playing their role towards peace and progress of FATA and Pakistan as they are the future leaders.

Commander Peshawar Corps, DG ISI, CGS and other senior Army officers were also present.
