Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who has held limelight in Hollywood as well, has been awarded with the prestigious Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice.
Priyanka was chosen for the award in light of her contributions for refugees and displaced people as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Harmony Foundation invited Priyanka for receiving award for her contributions toward social causes.
Her mother received the award on her behalf as she was in the US.
Priyanka’s mother, Madhu who co-owns Purple Pebbles Production with Priyanka felt proud of her daughter’s accomplishments toward the society.
“I humbly accept the award on her behalf. As a mother, I am immensely proud to have a child who is so compassionate and has so much kindness in her. She exemplifies the fact the more you give, the more you get.”
In a statement, she shared, “Even as a child, Priyanka was influenced by Mother Teresa and has been supporting Prem Nivas in Bareilly.”
