ISLAMABAD: Applauding Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said other Muslim leaders should also follow in the footstep of the Turkish leader against US move to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
Speaking to media after appearing before a Anti-Terrorism Court in connection with cases registered against him since 2014, he applauded Erdogan's calls for a summit of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and condemned the US move saying President Donald Trump's doesn't consider Muslim as human beings.
Erdogan on Tuesday said Turkey, which currently holds the chairmanship of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), would immediately call a summit meeting of the pan-Islamic group if Trump went ahead with the move.
He said the status of Jerusalem is a "red line" for Muslims and could even prompt Turkey to cut ties with Israel.
Commenting on Baqar Najfi Commission report on Model Town tragedy, he said his party would stand by Dr Tahirul Qadri if he takes too street against those who sprayed innocent people with bullets .
He said Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah should be jailed on terrorism charges as innocent people including two women were shot from close range.
