KARACHI: In lieu of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah being summoned to court in Karachi clean drinking water case, Chairman-People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto tweeted on Monday regarding the long-standing issue that concerns not only Sindh but the entire country, as said by him.
Bilawal justified his provincial government’s performance as having taken adequate steps for the resolution of problem through installation of RO plants and the construction of dams.
He wrote: “1 of biggest crisis affecting all of Pakistan is water. The Sindh Govt has taken practical steps to address this from investing in the most RO plants across the province, linging of our canals and construction of damns. I’m glad CM will get a chance to present our case in SC.”
Bilawal then went out to add, “Water is not just a Sindh issue. While we beat the drum of CPEC in Balochistan many areas have no access to water. South Punjab has its own water issues as does southern KPK. Islamabad even has water access problems. What have other provinces done? Why is Sindh always singled out?”
It should be noted that CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah has been called out by a bench in Supreme Court on Dec 06. Mustafa Kamal is also summoned in the same case and is scheduled to appear before court on Dec 05.
