KARACHI: Educational institutes in Punjab and Sindh will remain closed on Monday due to the law and order situation in the provinces in the wake of operation at Faizabad area in Islamabad.
Education minister Punjab Rana Mashood has announced to close all educational institutes in the province for two days.
Meanwhile, various universities in Karachi have also announced to postpone examinations scheduled for Monday, whereas all private educational institutes in Sindh are announced to remain close.
However, the Sindh Government has decided not to close the schools in the province whereas the Private Schools Association has announced to close the private schools on Monday.
Earlier, the administration of the Karachi University had announced to postpone the examinations that were scheduled for Monday but later it has taken a u-turn refusing the postponement.
However, Federal Urdu University has postponed examinations that were scheduled for Monday due to the security concerns in the city.
Jinnah Women University has also announced it would remain closed on Monday.
Punjab Educational Minister, Rana Mashhood, on Sunday declared that all private and government institutes will remain close on Monday and Tuesday across the province.
He added that the closure was decided in protection against the alarming situation nationwide adding that the closure could be extended in case of no control over the situation and a fresh announcement will be made accordingly.
