Rizvi condemns attack on Lahore Churches, slams Taliban

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi on Monday condemned Lahore Church blasts and said his party stood by the Christian community.
Addressing a ceremony held here in the memory of Christians killed in Lahore Church blasts, Rizvi said Taliban were targeting worship places including Mosques, Imambargahs, Churches without any discrimination.
He said the outlawed Taliban are attempting to divide the nation. “At one side stand the oppressor while at other the oppressed,” he said.
He said people from every sect and religion were present at his party's Headquarters to express solidarity with the victims of Lahore Church blasts.
"Zarb-e-Azb is the dream of thousands of people and the terrorists will not be able to dampen the spirit of the nation", the MQM leader said.
On the occasion, the candles were also lit-up in the memory of Lahore Church blasts victims.
