ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday submitted a report into  the Faizabad sit-in to the Supreme Court of Pakistan .

The court had sought detailed reports from the Defence and Interior Secretaries into the sit-in that is being staged by a religious outfit.

The Supreme Court had also issued notices to Inspector General Islamabad Police and Attorney General.

On the other hand, all the meetings that took place between the government and the protesters have failed to produce any results, with the religious group sticking to its demand for law minister’s resignation.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had ordered  the government to   end the  protest with or without use of force to protect the basic rights of citizens .

The government , however,  failed to  comply with the high court orders  and continue to engage the protesters in talks in orders to end the protest peacefully.

The protesters have been demanding resignation of Law Minister Zaid Hamid.
