Govt's decision to be followed over Faizabad sit-in, says DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations's (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Thursday said that the forces will follow the government’s decision regarding the Faizabad sit-in.
DG ISPR said that the negotiated-settlement is the best option to handle the situation, however, forces will act upon the instructions of the government what it decides regarding the sit-in issue, which has been continuing for 17 days by religious parties at Faizabad.
He further said that politics has its own domain, institutions are respectable but nothing is above the state, adding that forces value the Constitution but its clause should not be exploited for personal uses.
He said that it is everyone's responsibility to keep the Constitution supreme.
DG ISPR said that forces can not move without the support of the nation.
While highlighting the unmatched sacrifices of the armed forces to eradicate the menace of terrorism, he said that border with Afghanistan is being secured, he added that the affairs in Afghanistan are not in control of its government.
