ISLAMABAD: Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed disappointment over what he said Pakistan People Party support for the "black laws" that were introduced by dictators.
Speaking to media outside the court after attending the hearing at the accountability court, he said he had no complaint against the Tehreek-e-Insaf because it has nothing to do with democracy, but was deeply saddened over PPP’s move in the parliament.
He said the PPP should not forget the sacrifices it rendered during the struggle it has gone trough in the past.
The deposed prime minister said the parliament decision to reject the bill tabled by the opposition parties was an open message to those who were reluctant to walk the path of democracy.
He congraluted his allied parties for passing legislation relating to election reforms and called it an eye opener for his opponents.
Nawaz Sharif said majoity in the parliament was not in favour of protecting the laws that were introduced by dictators. “It is a huge progress,” said he.
