ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP-P) candidate for Senate Chairmanship, Raza Rabbani, said on Tuesday that a candidate from Balochistan should be the Senate Deputy Chairman.
Thanking all the parties, including the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for backing him, he said he will to strive to meet the expectations of every party without succumbing to any pressure.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP-P) candidate for Senate Chairmanship, Raza Rabbani, said on Tuesday that a candidate from Balochistan should be the Senate Deputy Chairman.
Thanking all the parties, including the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for backing him, he said he will to strive to meet the expectations of every party without succumbing to any pressure.
Raza Rabbani also met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House post the luncheon today where the PM congratulated him and wished him luck.
Earlier today, the PM announced that the government was ready to back PPP-P candidate Raza Rabbani as Senate Chairman.
During a pre-luncheon press conference at the PM House, he heartily welcomed the nomination of the opposition and said the PML-N will not nominate its own candidate for either Chairman or Deputy Chairman.
The PM went on to say that the government wanted a unanimous decision and has consulted all parties and taken decisions based on national interest.
PM Nawaz hosted a luncheon at the PM House today for the heads of all political parties for further consultation relating to the election of Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
