SC issues ECP final dates for LG polls
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold Local Government (LG) elections in Punjab and Sindh on September 20.
A three member bench also directed the ECP to conduct LG polls in Islamabad on July 25.
The court has strictly ordered the ECP to ensure the holding of LG polls on the prescribed dates.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold Local Government (LG) elections in Punjab and Sindh on September 20.
A three member bench also directed the ECP to conduct LG polls in Islamabad on July 25.
The court has strictly ordered the ECP to ensure the holding of LG polls on the prescribed dates.
On March 6, the SC had directed the Secretary ECP to submit a fresh schedule for conducting LG polls in Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad by today.
Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja had remarked that a delay of even one day would not be tolerated without any legitimate reason.
