KARACHI: Two suspected terrorists belong to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in shootout during an intelligence based operation jointly conducted by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Rangers at Noorani Basti ,Korangi in early hours of Saturday.
Talking to media, in-charge CTD, Umer Khitab said that an intelligence based operation jointly carried out in search of suspected terrorists at Noorani Basti in Korangi area when the cops entered a house the terrorists restored to firing and after a heavy exchange of fire two terrorists belonged to TTP got killed.
CTD said that killed terrorists were involved in murder of two traffic policemen, Constable Kamran and Head Constable Mohammad Khan, at Abul Hasan Ispahani Road while they were busy regulating traffic, adding that they recovered Constable Kamran's MP-5 rifle from their custody.
CTD claimed to have recovered weapons and other materials from the alleged terrorists who had affiliation with TTP's Mufti Shakir Group and involved in other sabotage activities in the city.
