KARACHI: A fire which erupted at the Income Tax building on Monday morning has been extinguished. Officials said the record contained inside the building was not burnt in the blaze.
The fire erupted on the eight floor of the Income Tax building located in the Sindh Secretariat at 9:00 AM this morning. Six fire tenders were rushed to extinguish the blaze which quickly spread to fourth floor of the building.
The canteen is located on the eight floor while the fourth floor houses Regional Tax office, officials said. Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Hafiz Muhammad Ali said the record in the building remained safe.
The blaze was extinguished by the fire department after 1.5 hours and people were allowed to return to their offices.
