ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawajad Muhammad Asif on Thursday said neither army nor judiciary were hatching any conspiracy against the government.
Speaking at Geo News talkshow Capital Talk, he said both the institutions are operating within ambit of the constitution.
He said the government had reservations about the Joint Investigation Team and openly expressed them. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz stalwart said there was no division in the ruling party and it was united under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Responding to a question, he said the ruling party has never considered option of another prime minister.
Khawaja Asif said he sees a foreign hand conspiring against Nawaz Sharif because Pakistan is the only country that is determined to eliminate terrorism.
"Enemy wants us to become entangled in war against terrorism. Hegemony of other regional ports would come to an end with the emergence of Pakistan," said he.
