ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was ready to vote in favour of the 22nd Constitutional amendment in the National Assembly to prevent horse-trading in the Senate polls but the government didn not table the bill.
Earlier, Khan had praised Nawaz Sharif for his efforts to curb horse-trading in the Senate election but categorically said PTI MNAs would not go back to the lower house of Parliament.
It appears from Khan’s statement that he still considers his MNAs, who tendered resignations during last year's sit-in, as members of the legislature.
It may be mentioned that National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has not accepted resignations of the PTI MNAs.
