PESHAWAR: A relative and former secretary of Afghanistan’s ex-prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar was gunned down in Tajabad area of Pishtakhara in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police said unidentified attackers opened fire on Haji Fareed while he was coming out of a mosque. As a result, Fareed died on the spot.
Haji Fareed had served as secretary of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. He had recently returned from Afghanistan.
Hailing from Kunduz, Fareed was based in Peshawar for the past decade with his family.
