KARACHI: Expressing resentment over unannounced loadshedding in Karachi, Sindh High Court on Wednesday summoned K-Electric’s higher officials for response on May 29.
The SHC bench, headed by Justice Irfan Saadat was hearing the petition filed against unannounced loadshedding by K-Electric.
The petitioner’s counsel, Faisal Siddiqui prayed Karachiites were facing severe difficulties owing to massive loadshedding in the metropolis. He K-Electric was carrying unannounced loadshedding despite NEPRA’s clear directives not to do so.
Justice Irfan asked K-Electric what steps the power utility were adopting to overcome the loadshedding.
The K-Electric counsel informed the court that power outage is being carried out due to gas loadshedding and falling of electric pole in Jamshoro. The utility is facing a shortfall of 600MW at present, he added.
