MUMBAI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will suspend its flights between Karachi and Mumbai from May 11, Indian media reported citing the sources.
The national flag carrier operates a weekly flight between Karachi and Mumbai every Thursday.
Citing a company associated with the flight operations, the Indian media said, “PIA, in a communication to authorities concerned, has said that its Karachi-Mumbai flight will not be open for sale (bookings) from May 11."
The airline also did not operate its services this Thursday, however, PIA had informed the relevant authorities about the non-operation of service on May 4 in a communication last month.
Tension between Pakistan and India has mounted as Indian security forces had been violating ceasefire accord at Line of Control and the Working Boundary.
India also on Wednesday sent back over 50 Pakistani students, visiting the country on the invitation of an NGO after threats from Hindu extremists.
