LAHORE: A defamation notice has been served on president of ARY, Salman Iqbal and anchor Mubashir Luqman, telling both of them to withdraw their allegations and tender an unconditional public apology.
The defamation notice has been issued to them by Prime Minister’s Advisor for Aviation, Captain Shujaat Azeem.
The notice says in case of failure in tendering apology, proceedings for a fine of Rs500 million will be initiated.
It had been alleged that Shujaat Azeem had sold a functioning plane of PIA to a company run by her daughter.
Shujaat Azeem clarified that his daughter’s present age is only 16 years and she is still a school student. He said the record corroborates that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had not made a transaction for selling any of its plane.
