MARDAN: PPP Co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari said on Monday that the government had ‘stolen the CPEC project from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’, claiming to take it back and hand over to Pakhtuns.
Addressing a public meeting here, the former president said that before him nobody even dared to think of giving identity to Pakhtuns.
He condemned blocking of national identity cards of Pakhtuns. I hold the government responsible for blocking NICs of Pakhtuns, he added.
FATA’s merger with KP was the dream of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. We will merge the tribal area with the KP, the former president claimed.
While referring to Imran Khan without taking his name, Zardari said there is a captain who believes he is Pakhtun only because his name carries suffix of “Khan”. He claims to be a leader of youth. But, in fact he is older than me. However, Bilawal is a leader of youth, Zardari said.
