Mardan lynching: Man who incited mob against Mashal arrested, three still at large
MARDAN: The police on Sunday arrested an accused who reportedly had incited the mob to kill Mashal Khan on blasphemy charges, while three others are still at large about whom police believe had dragged the victim out of room.
The accused has been identified as Bilal Baksh, who is an employee of Abdul Wali Khan University. The latest arrest has taken the tally of total suspects in police custody to 34.
Mardan DPO Mian Saeed told media that Bilal, a computer operator at the university, shouted slogans calling for the murder of Mashal.
Three primary suspects in the horrific murder case are hiding and the police conducting raids to arrest them. The investigators were of the view that they were the ones who dragged Mashal out of his dorm room before shooting him.
On 13th April, an angry mob lynched 23-year-old Mashal Khan to death on charges that he committed blasphemy, however, these allegations were found to have been fabricated to kill him.
